Field mapping

Field mapping tells KnotCMS which Notion columns update which Framer CMS fields. You configure this on Step 3 · Mapping in the setup wizard (or when you reconfigure a project).

Mapping table

Each row is one Notion property. Turn rows on or off, edit the Framer CMS column name on the right, and pick which property is the slug.

Notion property type is shown read-only under each name. Enabled rows sync on every run.

Tip

Start with title, slug, and main content fields. Add images and metadata once the basic sync works.

Where Notion syncs (connect-existing path)

If you chose Connect existing databases, mapping starts with Where should Notion sync? before the field table:

Update existing collection — sync in-place into the Framer collection you selected in step 1. Column names must match what you map.

In-place sync updates matching fields in your existing collection.

Create new KnotCMS collection — KnotCMS adds a separate ”… · KnotCMS” collection; your selected Framer collection stays unchanged.

New managed collection: columns come from your Notion mapping.

For new Framer collection from Notion (option 3), you skip this section — KnotCMS always creates a new managed collection.

Automation

Below the mapping table, set Auto-sync and Auto-publish (paid plans). Then click Create & sync to finish setup.

Basic plan: leave auto-sync off and use Sync now on the project page.

Supported types

Notion property types (Title, URL, Date, etc.) are detected automatically. See Supported field types for how each type is written to Framer.

Change mapping later

Open Connection → Edit connection on the project page — Reconfigure a project.
