Auto-publish

On paid plans, KnotCMS can call Framer’s publish API after a successful sync — either deploy to live or preview only.

Open your project page and scroll to Sync behavior → After each sync. Turn on Auto-publish Framer site.

Auto-publish Framer site toggle enabled
Deploy or preview your site when a sync finishes.

You can also enable auto-publish during setup on the Mapping step (paid plans). Choose Publish mode:

  • Deploy to live site — pushes CMS changes to your published Framer site
  • Preview only — publishes a preview without deploying live

When you turn auto-publish on from the project page, KnotCMS runs a sync immediately so your site can publish without waiting for the next Notion edit.

When publish succeeds, KnotCMS shows a green banner under After each sync — for example Synced 7 items — published to live site.

Sync success banner, publish cooldown message, and auto-publish toggle
CMS sync still runs during cooldown; only live publish is delayed.

Framer limits how often you can publish. If a sync finishes during cooldown, KnotCMS still updates Framer CMS but skips live publish. You will see:

Live publish on cooldown (Xm Ys remaining). CMS still syncs — publish manually in the Framer dashboard, or wait for the next sync to auto-publish.

Wait for the timer, then use Sync now or let the next auto-sync trigger publish.

If publish fails for another reason, KnotCMS shows an info banner with the skip reason — try Sync now again after a moment.
